Both starting pitchers were sharp through the first two innings holding the game to a scoreless
tie. Kansas City broke through first, scoring off of Jose Almarante with a solo shot by Chantz Mack.

The RedHawks held a 3-2 lead heading into the top of the seventh before Kansas City took a commanding lead, scoring three including a two run home run by Marcus Lemon.
Charlie Valerio answered with an opposite field HR in the next inning but it wasn’t enough as Cody Winiarski followed up the eighth inning with a scoreless ninth to pick up his 14th save and preserve the 6-4 lead.
