Big Hits Provide Third Straight Win for 'Hawks

From top to bottom the F-M lineup was productive in their 7-3 win at Newman Outdoor Field over Kansas City on Tuesday. Batters one through nine either scored a run or drove one in.

Offensively in total the home team knocked around 13 hits, seven of which were for extra bases. The onslaught started in the third when Ryan Wagner crushed a solo home run. Mike Gilmartin followed with a double, and then Kes Carter's double plated him. Carter later scored on a single by Keury De La Cruz.

Two more came in the fourth to boost the lead to 5-0 with Brian Humphries' home run bringing in Dustin Geiger as well. In the fifth inning Ryan Pineda led off with a triple, which was his seventh of the season and puts him into a tie for first place in the American Association. He scored on Josh Mazzola's RBI. K.D. Kang followed with a single, and came home on Geiger's double to bring the lead all the way to 7-0 after five.

On the mound Dylan Mouzakes made his first start for the RedHawks. He was very solid in his seven innings, ringing up seven and yielding just four hits. He did allow two runs in the seventh but the game was already in hand by then. The T-Bones added another in the eighth to cut the lead to 7-3, but it still wasn't enough to answer back to the production of the home team.

Mouzakes (1-0) won his first ever decision and Jordan Cooper (3-6) took the loss. Game three of the series will be Wednesday, 7:02 p.m., at Newman Outdoor Field.
