Derek was raised near Ulen, Minnesota, graduating high school in 2008, and later attending college in Fargo. Derek recently graduated from Minnesota State Community and Technical College with an AS is Business Management, and is currently enrolled at Minnesota State University Moorhead to complete his bachelors degree. He joined the Minnesota Army National Guard in 2012, and along with his Guard duties, has been working as a bartender and bar manager over the last five years. Derek previously worked for The Fargo Force and JL Beers.
