GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The AirHogs walked off in dramatic fashion Monday at home against the RedHawks, downing the visitors by a final of 6-5 on a bottom of the 9th single by Juan Sanchez. The win was the third in a row for the AirHogs.

Sam Martin got the ball to start for the home squad and struggled in the first inning. He faced 8 and surrendered a 3-run blast to Josh Mazzola. The blast was the first of the year for the Fargo third baseman. Martin would settle down after that though, keeping the game close by racking up a pair of 1-2-3 innings in the 2nd and 3rd.

In the bottom of the 3rd, the AirHog bats got to work. Brian Bistagne reached with a one-out single and would come home 2 batters later when Michael Hur, the American Association Player of the Week, drilled his 3rd home run of the season over the left field fence to make it 3-2.

Burt Reynolds got in on the action in the 4th, leading off the bottom half of the inning with a solo home run of his own to tie the contest. In a sign of things to come, Sanchez would give the team its first lead on an RBI double to score Hur in the 5th.

The teams went back and forth in the 6th, with each adding a tally. The RedHawks tied the game in the 7th on an RBI double by Keury De La Cruz. Carlos Misell, the righty reliever who entered in the 6th in place of Martin, stranded De La Cruz on third though to keep it a tie.

In the 8th, the RedHawks threatened, loading the bases against southpaw relief man David Wayne Russo with just one out. Russo escaped the jam, only to put 2 aboard with 1 out in the 9th with the score still tied. Sanchez helped him back out of that tight spot as well though, keying a 6-4-3 double play to send it to the bottom half at 5-5.

Cody Lenahan led off the deciding half frame with a bunt single and moved up to second on a sacrifice bunt by Bistagne. With 2 outs, the RedHawks intentionally walked Hur to get to Sanchez, who burned them for the winning run. The 29-year-old shortstop took a 2-1 offering from Fargo fireman Mike Mason bouncing up the middle for a base hit to score Lenahan and help the AirHogs to a 3rd straight win.

Russo (1-0) got the win, while Mason took the loss (0-1). The AirHogs (3-2) and RedHawks (2-3) will battle again tomorrow at AirHogs Stadium, starting at 10:05 am.
