RedHawks Acquire Bodishbaugh from Sioux City![]() The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have acquired RHP Chris Bodishbaugh from the Sioux City Explorers for two players to be named later and cash considerations. Bodishbaugh will be in uniform tonight as the North Division-leading RedHawks open a three-game series against the Central Division-leading Wichita Wingnuts at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita.
Bodishbaugh, 28, was 3-1 with a 1.86 ERA and 13 saves for the Explorers this season. He has pitched 38.2 innings and allowed nine runs (eight earned) on 27 hits. Bodishbaugh has struck out 39 batters and walked twelve.
In his professional career, Bodishbaugh is 14-11 with a 4.34 ERA and 37 saves in 199 games. He played in the Florida Marlins organization in 2008 and has made independent stops with Victoria (2009-10) and Calgary (2011) of the North American Baseball League and Sioux City (2012-13) and Winnipeg (2012) of the American Association. “Chris has been very good this year in Sioux City, and we want him to come in and compliment the guys we already have in the bullpen as we make a push to the post-season,” said RedHawks manager Doug Simunic. “He knows how to pitch the ninth inning, and he’s done in a nice job in multiple inning stints over the past couple weeks.”
In another roster move, the RedHawks have placed RHP Paul Burnside on the Inactive List retroactive to August 9. Burnside was 6-5 with a 5.65 ERA in 17 games (15 starts) for the RedHawks this season. <redhawks> |
