FARGO, ND – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks will have a familiar face back in pinstripes for tonight’s Home Opener against the Sioux Falls Canaries. The club has signed RHP Kevin Fuqua to a contact. Fuqua previously played for the RedHawks in 2011 and 2012.
In 2013, Fuqua pitched for the Rockland Boulder of the Can-Am League after being traded for 1B Keith Brachold. Fuqua was outstanding out the Boulders bullpen, going 3-2 with a 1.71 ERA and 21 saves. In 42.0 innings pitched, he allowed 13 runs (eight earned) on 31 hits. Fuqua struck out 36 batters and walked 17.
Fuqua originally signed with the RedHawks in 2011 after completing his college career at LaSalle University in Philadelphia. In 21 games that summer, he was 1-2 with a 1.60 ERA and three saves. In 2012, Fuqua was 21 with a 3.34 ERA and one save in 47 games.
The signing of Fuqua brings the RedHawks roster up to the American Association maximum of 22 players.
