The RedHawks opened their series with the Trois-Rivieres Aigles Saturday evening, losing 7-2 thanks to a late four-run rally by the Aigles in the bottom of the seventh. The bats were silent until the bottom of the fourth when Jose Cuevas and Michael Hernandez both ran across home plate.
Travis Higgs and Brandon Tripp followed the trend with home runs that earned the RedHawks two runs, but points that evened the score were no match for busy hitters on the Trois-Rivieres roster that wouldn’t settle for a tie. After a run in the eighth that followed four in the bottom of the seventh, the Aigles ended the matchup with a 7-2 victory. Mike Bradstreet received the win on the mound as he allowed seven hits and two runs while Brian Ernst allowed five hits on six runs for the RedHawks.
