FARGO, ND --- For the second game in a row the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks held the Sioux City Explorers to just one run, winning 4-1. They’re now a league best (11-3)
Michael O’Neal got the start for the RedHawks and struck out six during his eight inning performance. The Southpaw allowed just five hits and one unearned run, lowering his ERA to 1.42 on the season.
Fargo-Moorhead took a two run lead in the first and never looked back adding another run in the bottom of the second when Brett Wiley hit a RBI single to drive in Ryan Pineda, who would score the team’s final with a solo shot in the fifth.
Sioux City scored their lone unearned run in the fifth before being held to one hit the remainder of the way.
Casey Weathers picked up his third save of the season, striking out the side in the ninth.
What’s next?: The RedHawks (11-3) start a series with Wichita (9-5) tomorrow night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:02 pm.
