FARGO, ND – The Fargo-Moorhead have acquired OF Devan Ahart from the Cleburne Railroaders for RHP Dylan Mouzakes and signed OF Mike Schwartz. Both are in the line-up tonight as the RedHawks continue their three-game series against the Winnipeg Goldeyes at Newman Outdoor Field.
Ahart, 24, was batting .308 with three doubles, one triple, seven RBI and nine runs scored in 13 games. He spent the three seasons in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization, including 24 games at the Double-A level in 2016 with the Tulsa Drillers of the Texas League. Ahart was drafted by the Dodgers in the 16th round in 2014 out of the University of Akron.
Schwartz, 30, joins the RedHawks after starting the season with the Sussex County Miners of the Can-Am League. He batted .255 with three doubles, one home run, seven RBIs and ten runs scored in 14 games this year.
In 2016, Schwartz made three stops in the Can-Am League and batted .294 with 25 doubles, 43 RBIs and 44 runs scored in 88 games between the Rockland Boulders, New Jersey Jackals and Trois-Rivieres Aigles. He began his professional career after being drafted in the 17th round of the 2010 draft by the Chicago White Sox out of the University of Tampa.
