FARGO, ND --- Inclement weather halted game-two between the Lincoln Saltdogs and the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks on Tuesday night. The matchup was set to be a classic pitchers duel with both teams’ number ones taking the mound before rain caused home-plate umpire Kurt Branin to put the game on delay after the top of the sixth inning. Eventually, the game was called due to worsening weather conditions with the final score ending at 2-0 in favor of the Saltdogs.
Tyler Alexander surrendered the only two runs of the shortened game in the third with the first run coming on an RBI double by former College World Series MVP Tommy Mendonca who later scored on a single by Curt Smith. Alexander also struck out five on 93 pitches in his six innings of work.
Lincoln starter, Carlos Pimentel, managed to hold the RedHawks offense to five hits and no runs, stranding runners on 2nd and 3rd in his final inning.
Winning Pitcher: Carlos Pimentel
Losing Pitcher: Tyler Alexander
What’s Next?: The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks will take the field for game three of their series with Lincoln tomorrow at 7:02.
