FARGO, ND --- The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks were unable to dig themselves out of an early five run deficit Wednesday night, falling to the Kansas City T-Bones by a score of 5-2.
RedHawks’ starter Tyler Herron struggled early giving up two runs in the first and three in the second, including a two run bomb by Tyler Horan who homered for the second consecutive night. Eventually, Herron settled down, retiring 15 consecutive batter.
Fargo-Moorhead couldn’t manage to climb back against former major leaguer Scott Carroll who held the RedHawks to two runs on six hits in seven innings of work.
The RedHawks scored on a Keury De La Cruz solo-homer in the sixth and an RBI single by Charlie Valerio in the seventh to cut the score to 5-2.
However, the Kansas City bullpen was able to hold the lead with Rich Mascheri pitching a scoreless eighth and Luis Paula pitching scoreless ninth.
