The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks announce the signing of right handed pitcher Trevor Simms to the 2018 roster. A native of Hurst, TX, Simms was drafted out of Tulane University by the Arizona Diamondbacks in round 32 (959th overall) of the 2016 MLB Amateur draft.
“Trevor came highly recommended to us because of his powerful arm and athleticism,” said RedHawks Manager Michael Schlact. “He reached AA with the Diamondbacks organization and we’re really excited to have him coming in to wear the RedHawks uniform in 2018. We place a high priority on competitiveness, ability, character and being a positive influence in the clubhouse. Trevor meets all these qualities with flying colors.”
In Simms minor league career, he’s appeared in 48 games, posting a 9-9 record, with a 4.51 ERA and 107 strikeouts in 121.2 innings. He also compiled four saves.
