The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks dropped their second straight game to the Lake County Fielders, falling 12-3 on Sunday afternoon at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI.
The Fielders knocked around RedHawks' ace Chad Rhoades, who entered the game with a 1.44 ERA. In six innings, he allowed five runs on ten hits to take the loss, falling to 3-1.
Former RedHawks pitcher Garry Bakker led the way with his best pitching performance of the season, going seven innings, allowing no runs and scattering six hits to earn the win and improve to 2-3 on the season.
Already up 5-1 entering the bottom of the eighth, the Fielders sent eleven batters to the plate, scoring seven runs and capped by a three-run home run by Joshua Short, to take command. Short's home run was his ninth of the season tying him for the lead in the Northern League.
