The Explorers snapped a three-game losing streak here Saturday with an impressive 9-3 win over Fargo-Moorhead.
The Explorers broke open a one-run game in the seventh inning scoring twice and then put the contest away in the eighth with three more runs. It was the most runs scored by the Explorers since June 21st when the X's 11 runs in a victory over Winnipeg.
Every hitter in the Explorers lineup had at least one hit. Tyler Goodro gave Sioux City a 1-0 lead in the first inning with his fourth home run of the year. T.J. Bohn hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning, also his fourth of the season.
Besides the timely hitting, three Explorer pitchers held Fargo-Moorhead to just six hit and held the Redhawks hitless in the final five innings. Matt Gibbs pitched the first five innings to even his record at 4-4 while Eddie Delacruz pitched the final 2 2/3 innings to record his fourth save of the year.
While the Explorers were snapping a three-game losing streak, Fargo-Moorhead went down to their fifth straight loss.
