GASTON RETURNS TO REDHAWKS
Eggleston Placed on DL, Rivers Released
FARGO, N.D. – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have made three roster moves ahead of tonight’s homestand opener against the Lincoln Saltdogs at Newman Outdoor Field. The RedHawks have re-signed OF Jon Gaston, placed OF Aharon Eggleston on the 7-day disabled list and released RHP Alex Rivers.
Gaston, 25, began the season with the RedHawks but was signed by the Chicago White Sox after just six games. He batted .385 with two doubles, two home runs, four RBIs and five runs scored for Fargo-Moorhead before departing. In 17 games with the Birmingham Barons of Southern League (AA), Gaston batted .204 with two doubles, two home runs, five RBIs and five runs scored.
Eggleston is batting .274 with five doubles, one triple, two home runs, 13 RBIs and 24 runs scored in 36 games for Fargo-Moorhead this season. He is expected to miss 2-to-3 weeks with a hamstring injury.
Rivers was 1-1 with a 7.00 ERA in nine appearances for the RedHawks this summer.
