Bio

Manuel Boscan returns to the American Association with the RedHawks in 2022 for his seventh season of organized professional baseball and first with the RedHawks after being acquired from the Milwaukee Milkmen for two players to be named later on March 25, 2021. He spent the 2019 season playing for the Milkmen, hitting .277/.375/.428 with 94 hits, 18 doubles, 51 RBIs, three triples, nine home runs, and 10 stolen bases in 94 games. The Maracaibo, Venezuela native was signed as an international free agent by the Cleveland Indians on Jan. 30, 2010 and spent four seasons in the Cleveland farm system, reaching Low-A with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in 2013. He played one game of winter ball for Aguilas del Zulia in the Venezuelan Winter League in 2013-14 before continuing to play baseball in Venezuela from 2014 to 2018.

 

Boscan returned to the Venezuelan Winter League in 2019-20 with Navegantes del Magallanes, hitting .244/.333/.356 with 11 hits, three doubles, three RBIs, one triple, and a stolen base in 26 games. Boscan played his first season of independent baseball in 2019 with the Milkmen, catching 65 games for Milwaukee in the team’s inaugural season. He also played 25 games at first base. He was named to the 2019 American Association All-Star Team for the All-Star Game at CHS Field in St. Paul.
